The REMORA app tackles the need for more reliable ongoing symptom monitoring in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The REMORA research study is investigating how this can be done effectively, and whether it leads to better outcomes for patients.

If invited to participate in REMORA , you can track your symptoms on a daily basis and log the impact of your RA on everyday life in between clinic visits. This important data will link up to your NHS hospital record and will be available to you and your rheumatologist at your next clinic visit.
The app is developed at the University of Manchester in close collaboration with RA patients, rheumatologists, and researchers.

KEEP TRACK OF YOUR SYMPTOMS
By rating your daily RA symptoms (such as pain, fatigue, sleep, and wellbeing), you can easily track and register how you have been doing. This will help you remember how your symptoms have developed over time and will give your rheumatologist a much better and clearer picture of your disease severity. There is also a diary function, where you can note down what was special about your day to add context to your symptoms or remind you what triggered a flare.

EASILY SHARE WITH YOUR DOCTOR
You log into the REMORA app with your NHS login. The symptom data you enter is securely and automatically linked to your NHS hospital record, and will be displayed as interactive, easy-to-understand graphs over time at your next clinic visit.

WHY MONITOR YOUR RA?
Treatment for your RA is guided by changes in disease severity. As gaps between hospital visits can be significant (sometimes 6-12 months), it is often difficult for RA patients to accurately remember flares or how symptoms have changed over the preceding months. Therefore, at present, doctors have limited reliable information about disease severity between consultations. This is important because missing or incorrect information can mean doctors are less likely to make the best treatment decision. The REMORA app addresses this by allowing RA patients to track their symptoms with high frequency and effortlessly share this information with their doctor, so clinical decisions can be based on an even better foundation of patient-reported symptom data.
